Humble me
A sudden feeling pulled me away, wrapped in silence, no words to say.
My tongue was dry and heavy, drowning itself in unexpected tears.
Ripped apart, my heart laid naked in front of you, visible in the dark.
You presence made me tremble, yet your touch was so gentle.
AsI laid my heavy head at your feet, my heart gave another beat.
Love & grace flowed from your face, tightly I closed my eyes,
for your Light was so bright even in the darkness I couldn't hide.
Mercy & healing dripped from you skin, connecting lost vessels from within,
forming a new heart, protected, strengthen & overflowing with love.
You humble me, for without you I am nothing but a fish trying to swim on land.

"If anyone would like to acquire humility l can, l think, tell him the first step. The first step is to realize that one is proud." C.S. Lewis.
ReplyDeleteHumility is about being honest about who you are and who God is, about his strength, his goodness, and what he can do in your life.
That is truly inspirational, we really are nothing without God and your poem to me reitterates Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" wihout him we really are but fish trying to swim on land, but with him we can do everything :)
